STAIRWELL AND ELEVATOR SHAFT PRESSURE TESTING.

Future Controls was recently involved in Testing and Balancing a newly constructed twenty-two story hotel that was built on top of an existing five story structure in downtown Charlotte, North Carolina.  As part of the Test and Balance of the facility the elevator shafts and the stairwells were required to meet the county code pressure requirements during a fire alarm.

Outside Air and (vs) Exhaust Air – An important relationship in the indoor building environment

The correct outside-air airflow being brought into a building through the air conditioning systems and or a designated outside air conditioning unit is important for a couple reasons.

1. To maintain a healthier indoor environment by keeping the CO2 (carbon dioxide) levels lower in the building, which helps to reduces fatigue.
